<itunes:author>Jim Dorman</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Part 2 of the series: Discovering God&#39;s joy is critical in overcoming the adversity and apathy we encounter in our daily lives</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>If someone came up to you and asked you to provide the Biblical definition of "joy" -- how would you answer?

How do you differentiate "joy" from "happiness"? -- It can be difficult -- as they are so closely related!

While many things in life make us happy -- the problem with happiness is it fades over a period of time. What makes us happy today -- often fails to make us happy in a few weeks, in a few months, or in a few years!

<title>Growth</title>
<itunes:author>Chris Reed</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Part 1 of the series: Growth is not optional</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>No matter where you are, or who you are there is a next step to take. Whether you realize it or not growth is not an option. The entire covenant with God is based upon our agreement to grow, to keep taking next steps. If you are trying to decide if you want to follow God, if you want to enter into this agreement with him, pay close attention today because you are going to be given the opportunity to see what is expected of you. If you are here today and you&#146;ve settled for simply a belief in God you are going to be given the opportunity to grow, to take the next step. You won&#146;t know all the steps you have to take, but like people lost in a dark cave the first step is the hardest. The more and more you let the voice of God direct your path you realize that staying put is not an option. </itunes:summary>

<title>How can we be generous?</title>
<itunes:author>Jim Dorman</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Part 3 of the series: Our giving reflects our disobedience, obedience or generosity!</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Today, we are going to discover our role in being generous. For God calls each and every one of us to be models of His generosity. As Christians, the Bible teaches us we should be generous because God called us to be conduits of His generosity instead of buckets retaining His blessings. In addition, the Bible reveals God calls us to mature in our ability to be generous because when we are generous we best reflect the character of God. And finally, the Bible teaches us we are to be generous because from the beginning of time God has desired to impact the world around us as His children bestow generosity on His behalf!</itunes:summary>

<title>What does generosity look like?</title>
<itunes:author>Chris Reed</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Part 2 of the series: Genuine generosity is always contagious</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>What does generosity look like?

That&#146;s a hard question to answer isn&#146;t it? Generosity is very subjective- it&#146;s like beauty.

When you see generosity you know it don&#146;t you? Have you ever watched a child share his favorite toy? A busy dad stop and play catch with his son. A teacher stay after school to help a student.

I believe we know Generosity when we see it, but how would you describe it to someone? </itunes:summary>

<title>Gospel</title>
<itunes:author>Brad Dorman</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Part 5 of the series: What is it about the gospel that changes people&#39;s lives and motivates them to do amazing things?</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>This week is a little bit of a departure from the previous weeks. It&#146;s a departure in the sense that we&#146;re not going to spend a lot of time proving the trustworthiness of the Gospel.

The reason why is simple. In previous weeks we spent our entire time looking into the two biggest reasons why the Gospel is trustworthy.

Week 1 we looked at some of the reasons why we can believe that the Bible is accurate.

Two weeks ago we looked at the biggest reasons why we can trust that Jesus is in fact who He claimed to be

So the way I figure it is that if the book that tells the story is trustworthy and the person at the center of the story is trustworthy it stands to reason that the story is trustworthy

So instead, this week, we will look at why the Gospel has the power to change lives!!</itunes:summary>

So why have we found Jesus to be so trustworthy? Why do we worship Jesus, as well as God and God&#146;s Holy Spirit? Why does Jesus deserve and receive such a powerful position within our spiritual life?
