Neighborhood Groups
Get Connected!
When the Lord commanded us to love our neighbor, are we to take that literally as an absolute truth and really get to know them, teach them, connect with them and LOVE them?
Love Your Neighbor as Yourself Matt.22:39
Ever since CCoF decided to shepherd our adults in tangible and intentional ways, we wanted a name that best represented what we do. We meet in homes of leaders and members where teaching, fellowshipping, praying and loving occur on a weekly basis. And some even engage more frequently than that.
So, we called them Home Groups. There are literally thousands of churches worldwide that do the same things we do. We did not invent Home Groups by any stretch of the imagination. Largely it was to meet the needs of the group and to help them realize that God calls us to transform our lives into the character of his Son.
Well, we still do that and will continue doing that. However, we also realize that penetrating the message of Christ into our community will start in each separate neighborhood. So, we are moving in that direction and thus changing the name from Home Groups to Neighborhood Groups. Our Lay Pastors lead their own Neighborhood Group and people living in that area will be encouraged to become part of these groups that study the bible, pray together, fellowship and identify needs of those who choose to be part of this NG. Here is a short capsule comment from one of our Lay Pastors who leads one of these Neighborhood Groups.
Luis Viana
Neighborhood Group Lay Pastor
“Neighborhood Groups have changed our lives. Not only are we in a closer relationship with the Lord, but we get to also encourage others in the same thing.
As a Neighborhood Group Lay Pastor, we are both learning and helping others at the same time. We’re making new friends and meeting others in our community.
We encourage you to find your Neighborhood Group and get connected. I promise, you will not be disappointed.”
Remember, you are best connected to this church body when you belong to one of these Neighborhood Groups. If you need any information about where all these groups meet, who leads them, locations, days and times they meet, please meet the District Pastors at “THE MAP” in the Info Center immediately following worship services.
We look forward to getting to know you better and helping you find the Neighborhood Group that best fits you and your family.
